Because of this, carmakers offer a dizzying amount of styles and options, but with differing content that can sometimes make it hard for shoppers to compare apples to apples.”
To help car buyers navigate the midsize category, the Cars.com Editorial team put together their list of the Top 10 Most Affordable Midsize Sedans based on price (MSRP plus destination charges) and estimated five-year fuel cost. This year’s winner, the 2013 Kia Optima LX, came out on top thanks to its great features, low cost and strong fuel economy.
To ensure a level playing field among contenders, all vehicles in consideration were required to be equipped with a specific set of consumer-friendly features, such as automatic transmission, power windows and a rearview camera.
