  1. The most welcome and efficient way to keep in contact with guests and communicate appointment reminders is a text message. You should automatically send a text the day before and an hour before the appointment and give the consumer a change to text back to reschedule, ask questions, get directions if they need to.

    Admit it, everyone hates getting a phone call from your dentist the day before the appointment – dealing with voice mail, calling them back to confirm, etc. And emails have very low deliverability and open rates. Every text message is viewed, usually within seconds.

    If you want people to show up, send them a text.
